Week 34: Arranging toys in your child's room and presenting them.

Arranging toys on a low shelf will help with your child's growing independence. Present toys as 4-5 toys on the shelf at a time so your child doesn't get overwhelmed by the choices. Many questions question if I must present the toys before your child use them. The short answer is no; not all toys require a lesson. At Peariwinkle, we provide guidance in our Montessori Manuals to ensure you know how to present and use each toy properly. When your child is a baby, you are there to support them with their development; when they grow into a toddler, this is when presenting activities come into their playtime. For example, a 2-year-old child might work on cleaning a window; you would present the activity first to show them how to do it and then invite them to do the activity after you're done. You would observe and help when needed.
